Axi Recruitment is working with an established retail business in Leeds for an HR Manager to join their team. This role is a standalone HR position covering all aspects of Human Resources management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage core HR areas: employee relations and engagement, HR systems and operations, learning and development, health and wellbeing, compliance, and recruitment.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks to the business, working with the CEO to put measures in place.
  • Maintain the HR online management system and assist with payroll alongside the Finance Team.
  • Implementhealth and wellbeing initiatives to maintain employee satisfaction.
  • Provide HR guidance to Line Managers on sickness, disciplinaries, performance, and employment law compliance.
  • Address sensitive employee issues, including disputes and grievances, with professionalism, mediating situations as needed.
  • Work withManagers to create role specifications,identifyrecruitment channels, screen CVs and support with the interview process.
  • Provide new employees with awarm and efficient onboarding experience.
  • Oversee the new starter and leaver processes to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Coordinate training programs, book courses, and track employee development.
  • Coordinate staff appraisals, track performance, and help with succession planning.
  • Keep knowledge of policies, regulations and legislation up to date, including Health & Safety, GDPR, and the Equality Act.

Qualifications:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an HR Advisor role
  • Be a true HR Generalist
  • Team player who enjoys sharing ideas and welcomes feedback
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with ease, while maintaining high standards
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders, managing expectations and building relationships
  • Able to make decisions and take action, escalating when necessary
  • Be honest, dependable, and fair
