Job Purpose
We are looking for a software developer to join our small team. The Developer will demonstrate all the skills, experience and attributes required of this role. This role is hands-on and has a key requirement to work closely not only with the IT team, but also with the Operations, Commercial and Financial Managers, as well as their wider teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, test and maintain programs across the businesses; writing code, repairing code, identifying areas for software modification and monitoring analytics efficiently.
Work closely with the business stakeholders to ensure systems meet current requirements and future business needs.
Support with software development projects across a range of businesses.
Accountable for performing trials, testing and quality checks to ensure strong functionality and optimisation.
Maintaining and supporting systems andimproving the performance of existing software.
Support with designing databases, ensuring that these are accurate and that anomalies are rectified within an appropriate time period.
Support the prioritisation and documentation around change requests.
Prepare and maintain detailed records regarding development processes.
Systems admin, support and problem-solving involving the companys operational systems and harnessing technology to ensure the business efficiency.
Clearly and regularly communicating with stakeholders and technical colleagues.
Ensure that standards of service are at an exceptional level.
Support compliance with all legal & regulatory requirements regarding business activity and reporting thereof.
Adhoc duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer and Senior IT Developer.
Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 years experience in a similar programming role operating within a commercial organization. Strong analytical and critical thinking capability, comfortable writing and analysing SQL queries; solid communication skills, both written and verbal; superior attention to detail; organisational skills; planning skills; analytical skills; honesty.
Personal Attributes:
You will be confident, pro-active and have solid exposure to programming, with a focus on meeting the business needs and a granular attention to detail. You will have good time management skills and be able to meet tight deadlines.
