Broking Manager (Corporate Insurance) – c£70,000 to c£85,000+ - Central Leeds (Hybrid)

We are delighted to present this extremely rare and incredibly exciting opportunity to lead the Corporate Broking function of a reputable insurance broker in West Yorkshire.

The role will be leading a team of Corporate Handlers/Brokers, working closely with Directors, Account Directors, Placement Brokers and Business Support functions to ensure the highest levels of service are maintained.

This broker provides risk solutions to businesses across many sectors within the UK. Typically, clients will be a corporate company with bespoke insurance programs that have a premium spend between £200,000 and £3,000,000+.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of Account Handler/Brokers through coaching, development, and performance management
  • Comply with regulatory and other standards as directed by line management
  • Take ownership of problems and their resolution, seeking assistance where necessary
  • Identify improvements in client risk & insurance programme design
  • Assist in driving change in their location, allocating resources where necessary
  • Liaising with staff and Line Manager to ensure the team are transacting business with clients and insurers in a compliant and robust way, ensuring operational processes and systems are being monitored and maintained
  • Ensuring that file reviews are carried out in accordance with sign-off and ongoing supervision of staff and managing improvement
  • Manage a small portfolio of key clients and leading by example
  • Liaise effectively with Account Directors and the Head of Department to ensure client needs are met

Key Skills:

  • ACII or equivalent is preferred
  • Corporate insurance experience is required
  • Experience in managing/leading people
  • Experience as a mentor to advise and help develop less experienced colleagues
  • Advanced level of technical knowledge is required due to the complexity of the risks covered
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads, delivering accurately and on time
  • Embrace change, willingness to learn and react positively
