As a Legal 500 law firm, they're driven by exceptional standards and operational procedures.Role Overview:Preparation and SubmissionPreparing and submitting bills of costs to the Senior Courts Costs Office (SCCO). Serving bills of costs on third parties in accordance with required procedures.Deadline ManagementNoting and tracking relevant deadlines and key dates. Ensuring compliance with these deadlines and adhering to the necessary processes.Internal CollaborationLiaising with colleagues to gather all relevant information for the accurate preparation of bills of costs. Advising team leaders and colleagues on best practice and strategies to improve levels of cost recovery.Review and AssessmentReviewing bills following preliminary and final assessments. Managing responses, appeals, and negotiations with third parties and the SCCO.External LiaisonEngaging with external costs draftsmen, counsel, the SCCO, and other relevant external bodies as required.Process and ReportingEnsuring accurate recording and adherence to reporting processes. Making effective use of the case management system in line with agreed procedures.Knowledge and ExpertiseMaintaining a thorough understanding of the assessment process.
