Family Solicitor – Exciting Opportunity in Yorkshire

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented and driven Family Solicitor. You will join a growing and dynamic legal practice in a role that offers flexibility, career progression and a supportive team environment.

This Legal 500 law firm is seeking a skilled Family Solicitor to undertake fee-earning work, offering hybrid working opportunities and the chance to be part of a close-knit, expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload, including divorce, private children matters, non-molestation orders and financial relief cases
  • Handle cases independently under supervision and take on existing cases partway through
  • Attend court for directions hearings, first appointments and financial dispute resolution hearings
  • Take client instructions, draft legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including the Solicitors Act and legal aid rules
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, including conducting file reviews

Person Specification – Skills & Experience:

  • Strong legal knowledge and excellent client care skills
  • Proficiency in billing for services and understanding of legal aid eligibility and rules
  • Experience handling private children matters, domestic abuse cases, divorce and financial disputes – knowledge of TOLATA is advantageous
  • Skilled in drafting legal documents
  • Self-motivated with the ability to generate new work
  • Ability to supervise team members and conduct file supervisions
  • Qualified to act as a supervisor for Legal Aid purposes
