My Client is looking to hire for a Solicitor to join their award-winning Insurance team based at their Leeds office.This is a full-time role working, Monday - Friday, 9am until 5pm. Hybrid working arrangements are available depending on operational requirements.This is a great opportunity for an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join their Insurance Team and progress in their current career and bring their skills and knowledge to a collaborative and professional team. The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:
  • Handling a varied case load of Housing Disrepair matters – primarily consisting of pre litigated and litigated complex housing disrepair claims including counter claims in possession proceedings 
  • Provision of written and verbal advice in litigated and non-litigated matters;
  • Communications with client, opponents, Courts/Tribunals and third parties to progress files;
  • Contributing to business development including, presentations and training events, articles/newsletters, Chambers & Legal 500 submissions, etc.
  • Provision and supervision of value-added services e.g. client helpline calls/emails, legal surgeries, briefing notes etc.
  • Supporting the Head of Department, Partners and other advisors on their own cases, and the delivery of the departmental strategy and business objectives.

ApplyingThey will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applicants demonstrating the following the knowledge, experience, and skills:
  • qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) NQ up to 4 years PQE;
  • previous housing disrepair experience and knowledge is essential;
  • previous housing/insurance litigation experience;
  • proven experience of handling own caseload, working to and managing deadlines, alongside the Capability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targets;
  • have strong presentation and client handling skills and be commercially astute;
  • have the ability to work unsupervised and good self-motivation skills;
  • have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic;
