My client, one of Yorkshire's leading law firms are currently recruiting for a Personal Injury Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer to be based at their office in Leeds city centre.The role involves managing a caseload of military personal injury matters under supervision. This position is suitable for professionals with 3 to 5 years’ PQE, preferably with experience in military claims.The military claim types will include defective equipment, training injuries, cold injuries, assaults, discrimination, AFCS claims and noise induced hearing loss claims.  Hybrid working will be considered.The successful applicant will be organised and methodical.  Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently to ensure deadlines are met and our excellent client care standards are maintained.  You will also be friendly, professional and able to explain technical legal detail with clear and confident communication, both verbally and in writing.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their career.  Hard work and ability will be recognised and in return they offer the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge and build a successful career.KEY TASKS
  • Running a case load of client matters under supervision.
  • Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client’s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
  • Dealing with client enquiries
  • Providing support to other fee earners in the PI department.
KEY SKILLS – ESSENTIAL
  • Professional and friendly client care.
  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with procedures and processes.
  • Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal problems in a concise and customer-friendly way.
  • Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.
  • Good and clear communication to deal with clients and other parties face to face.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Accurate communication to produce clear and accurate letters and legal documents.
  • Confident IT skills
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work, under supervision, to meet clients’ expectations and matter deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • A flexible, pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude.
EXPERIENCE
  •  3 to 5 years PQE preferably with experience in military claims
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Practising Certificate for qualified applicants
