Transport Manager Leeds£60,000 + Benefits
Our client is a growing logistics business with a number of locations across the UK. We are supporting in their recruitment of a Transport Manager to be based out of their site in Leeds, overseeing an experienced Transport team which includes a large fleet of vehicles and drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day responsibility for Transport operations including business requirements and customer service levels
- Provide leadership to Transport team ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and hold P&L responsibility
- Named on company O'License
- Ensure all environmental, H&S, quality and legal standards are met by staying up to date with transport legislation
- Plan and manage transport resources effectively, including fleet planning & maintenance and labour resourcing
- Provide excellent service to customers, including regular reviews and sharing of best practices
- Optimise vehicle utilisation and availability through effective planning
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven-record and experience working at Transport Manager level
- Background working in Retail or 3PL would be highly desirable
- Strong compliance background, ideally with experience being named on company O'License
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, with ability to influence stakeholders
- Commercially savvy, with history managing P&L
- Big fleet experience (60+ vehicles) is required
