We are looking to appoint a Production Engineer for our client based just outside of Wakefield going through a period of sustained growth. We are looking for a well-versed Production Engineer who can focused on driving continuous improvement strategies throughout the business.

The successful Production Engineer will have a six-sigma green belt and the drive to develop in a growing manufacturing business.

The role:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for the review and approval of raw material
  • This will be based on certification, purchase order and testing
  • Dealing with customer queries, resolving process/specification issues before order confirmation
  • Responsible for the preparation of the manufacturing routes for both quotation and production purposes 
  • Reviewing of contracts in order to determine manufacturing capability
  • Support product/process development and customer orders
  • Look to implement cost reduction plans by increasing process capability
  • Responsible for the monitoring of sample and development products

The candidate:

  • Previous working experience in manufacturing)
  • Experience driving lean manufacturing. Six sigma green belt is advantageous.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to liaise with other teams to improve/discuss process improvement issues
