Leeds City Council is seeking skilled Commercial Vehicle Maintenance Technicians to join our Fleet Services team. The role involves the inspection, servicing, repair, and maintenance of our diverse fleet of commercial, heavy goods, and specialist municipal vehicles, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and Council policies.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and perform maintenance checks on a variety of commercial vehicles.
  • Service, repair, and maintain heavy goods and specialist municipal vehicles to high standards.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with statutory regulations and Council policy.
  • Diagnose faults efficiently and effectively using specialist equipment.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Work as part of a dedicated team to manage workloads and meet service delivery targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, with a focus on heavy goods or municipal vehicles.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent).
  • A strong understanding of vehicle maintenance regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a reliable and professional work ethic.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
