We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Interim Head of Finance to oversee all aspects of our financial operations for up to 12 months. This role is crucial for delivering operational rigour and high-level direction, ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of our business. The successful candidate will provide strong financial leadership, support strategic decision-making, and manage a skilled finance team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide strategic guidance, leadership, and management of the business’s finances, advising the Senior Leadership Team on all financial matters.
  • Lead the financial planning process, delivering annual and medium-term budget plans, periodic forecasts, and funding requirements.
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other senior leaders to mitigate risks, ensure best value procurement, and manage resources effectively.
  • Lead and manage the Finance team to deliver high-quality, proactive, and responsive services, continually seeking improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial governance standards, legislative requirements, and internal controls.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and business plans for the Finance Department.
  • Manage the accounting system, support internal controls, and promote sound financial management practices across the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a similar sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a finance team.
  • Excellent strategic planning and financial management skills.
  • Knowledge of financial legislation, regulation, and best practices.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and empower team members.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in financial software and systems.
