Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Loading Shovel Operator to join our clients team. As a Loading Shovel Operator, you will play a crucial role in the operations, responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials. Your primary duties will involve operating the loading shovel to move, load, and transport materials within the site, ensuring a smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Loading Shovel: Safely and efficiently operate the loading shovel to move, load, and transport materials, ensuring the correct placement and storage.
- Material Handling: Accurately load materials into hoppers, trucks, and other vehicles, maintaining balance and stability during transport.
- Site Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the loading shovel, reporting any faults or issues to the supervisor.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all site safety regulations and company procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Stockpile Management: Manage and organize stockpiles, ensuring materials are stored correctly and in line with operational requirements.
- Communication: Work closely with site managers, drivers, and other team members to coordinate activities and ensure efficient workflow.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials handled, including the amount and type of material loaded and transported.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Loading Shovel Operator or in a similar role.
- Valid Loading Shovel Operator certification or equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of site safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with precision and care.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in aggregate, construction, or similar industries.
- Knowledge of basic machinery maintenance.
- Familiarity with stockpile management.
