The Business & Opportunity:
Our client is a friendly and established firm of Chartered Accountants in Leeds who, due to increased workload, are looking to add to their team.
Working with their varied client based of fast-growth businesses across multiple sectors, you will help across both the payroll and bookkeeping departments.
They offer a truly hybrid approach, with a mix of home and office working (based in LS16 on the North West side of Leeds).
Your Responsibilities:
- Processing both weekly and monthly payrolls
- Maintaining active contact with client base
- Auto enrolment onto
- Preparation of management accounts.
- Ensuring correct VAT rates have been applied and preparing and submitting client VAT returns.
- Ongoing work with MTD (Making Tax Digital), helping clients with cloud software to make use of various apps to streamline the bookkeeping process.
- Employee expenses, multi-currency bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation.
- PAYE entry onto ledgers.
- Bank reconciliations and control accounts.
- Processing transactions.
- Customer focused, communicating effectively both internally and externally to ensure that the highest standards are maintained with the client base.
Skills and Experience required:
- Experience in Payroll and Bookkeeping
- A good level of knowledge and experience of using Xero/Sage would be highly preferred.
- Knowledge of VAT Regulations and MTD.
- Work well under pressure, maintaining a friendly and professional manner.
- A solution finder, able to work through problems effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Confident, motivated and have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
