Your new companyCorporate Governance Lead is required on a 12-month FTC basis for a growing public sector organisation based in Leeds. This role is offered on a remote basis with an occasional trip to the office in Leeds.

Your new roleThe post holder is responsible for providing professional expertise of the governance arrangements for the organisation particularly in the areas of assurance and risk management. The role will involve:

  • Embedding an integrated corporate governance framework through the organisation.
  • Managing the development and implementation of an effective risk management framework for the organisation.
  • Ensuring secretariat duties for the Governance groups are in place
  • Secretariat duties for Board sub- committees
  • Acting as key liaison between the organisation and the internal audit service supplier.
  • The post holder will have responsibility for the Line Management of a Corporate Governance Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Previous Secretariat support ideally for the senior leadership team/board
  • Experience of Governance, Risk, Process, Policy, improvement and audit within a public sector organisation would be ideal
  • Experience of develop and maintaining corporate governance framework
  • Previous mentoring or line management experience would be ideal
