Operations Shift Manager – FMCG, Food Production and Manufacturing.

Location: Leeds

Shift Pattern: 12hrs shifts, 4 days on - 4 days off (2x night shifts a month)

Salary: £52,000 - £57,000 + 12% yearly bonus

As an Operations Shift Manager, you’ll have direct responsibility for running a team of 25 to 30 operatives in a daily manufacturing operation. In addition, your ability to implement change and work towards continuous improvement will be highly rewarded. This is an exciting time to join a team of high achievers who have reached all their production targets for the 5th year running.

The role has come about as the current person has taken on a development opportunity to move internally which is always highly encouraged by the business. Apart from constant performance reviews, this role comes with a carefully planned progression structure which would allow you to move up to an Operations Manager and Director roles in the near future.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing up to 30 direct reports per shift and fully responsible for quality control, audit and continuous team development.
  • Contribute, implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work towards growth and improvement of your personal and team KPIs following the 6-12 months plan.
  • Making long-standing improvements and decisions based on data collection and KPIs.
  • Daily stakeholder management (Production Directors, COO and CEO).

Ideal skill set we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar industry, manufacturing or warehouse team managing roles.
  • A proven track record in mentoring, coaching and driving high-performing teams
  • Proficiency and competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
