Job Title: Machine Operative
Location: Leeds, LS10
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM
Pay: 12.50 while on training, 15 after successful training completed
Bonuses: Performance & Attendance
Contract: Temporary to Permanent after 12 weeks
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Operative to join our dynamic team in the print and packaging industry. This role is key to ensuring smooth daily operations and timely, high-quality production across various machines, including:
- Sodeme (Gluer/Stitcher)
- Casemakers (Printing/Die Cutters)
- Weipong
- Curioni
- TCY
As a Machine Operative, you will play a vital role in driving production, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality and efficiency in every job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Ensure daily production schedules are met and jobs are completed on time with accurate specifications. Report any issues or schedule disruptions to the Production Manager.
- Productivity Targets: Achieve set targets and optimal productivity levels.
- Health & Safety: Maintain company health and safety standards and report unsafe practices.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain quality checks to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Time Management: Maintain excellent time-keeping, taking breaks within designated times.
- Housekeeping: Ensure cleanliness and safety within the work area; tidy machines after each job.
- Machine Maintenance: Follow maintenance programs, clean, and oil machines during and after shifts. Report any machine defects promptly.
- Administration: Complete administrative duties clearly and accurately.
- Energy and Attitude: Promote a positive, "can-do" attitude and contribute to a productive and supportive environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Previous experience operating machinery in the print and packaging industry, with knowledge of machines such as Sodeme, Weipong, Curioni, and TCY.
- Deadline Management: Ability to meet tight and urgent deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Organize and manage your workload efficiently.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Positive Attitude: Friendly, upbeat, and professional with a "can-do" mindset.
- Timekeeping: Exceptional timekeeping skills and strong attendance record.
- Accuracy: Strong eye for detail and a sound understanding of measurements.
