We're looking for a Spares Buyer to join our Client's Procurement Team. This is a key role in ensuring the efficient purchasing of spare parts and indirect procurement items. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for supplier relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and procure spare parts and indirect procurement items in line with business requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.
- Monitor stock levels and work closely with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvements in the supply chain.
- Manage supplier contracts, price negotiations, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support operational needs.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to optimise procurement strategies.
- Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with a strong preference for indirect procurement experience.
- CIPS qualification (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment is beneficial.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
