Role Description:

The Marketing Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, engaging, and nurturing potential clients through targeted outreach. Acting as the bridge between sales and marketing, this role focuses on lead generation via email campaigns and digital marketing strategies. The goal is to generate high-quality leads and pass them to the sales team for conversion, ultimately driving business growth. The candidate will work within the marketing department based in Compliance House, Leeds.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Identify potential clients through email campaigns and online research.
  • Engage prospects through personalised outreach, initiating conversations and building relationships.
  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria before passing them to the sales team.
  • Monitor and optimise outbound marketing efforts to maximise lead conversion.

Marketing & Outreach:

  • Develop and execute targeted email outreach campaigns.
  • Craft compelling messaging to attract and engage potential clients.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align outreach strategies with brand positioning.
  • Track and report outreach performance, optimising engagement strategies accordingly.

Collaboration with Sales & Marketing:

  • Work closely with the sales team to understand lead requirements and priorities.
  • Maintain CRM records, tracking lead status and interactions.
  • Support marketing initiatives by providing insights from lead interactions.
  • Assist in developing content and strategies to improve engagement.

Performance Analysis & Optimization:

  • Use analytics tools to assess outreach effectiveness and optimise campaigns.
  • Provider to client test messaging and approaches to improve response rates.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor outreach strategies to stay ahead.

Required Skills:

  • Initiative: Proactive, confident and self-motivated, with a results-driven mindset. The ability to work alone at times. This candidate should be a strong communicator.
  • Experience: In lead generation, outbound sales or digital marketing.
  • Technical Skills:Ability to learn email automation tools (e.g. Microsoft Forms, HubSpot, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to craft engaging outreach messages.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to track performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaboration: Works well with sales and marketing teams to align efforts.

The role is full time and is office based.

Working hours are 08:30 to 17:00 with a 45 minute lunch break.
