As Sales Engineer, you would be joining a smaller division of a global engineering company. They seek an experienced area sales person to nurture and grow their Northern client base. To successfully manage your territory (Liverpool across to Sheffield with a few further afield) we seek a candidate who lives within this region.

You would be joining a down to earth and forward thinking company who require an experienced Sales Engineer to join their field team.

The role of Sales Engineer is a full-time (Monday -Friday) permanent position incorporating between 3 - 4 days on the road visiting clients. With an annual salary up to £44,000 per year, you will also be earning quarterly sales bonuses. Also included is a £5000 car allowance, mileage (45p per mile) impressive company pension, private medical insurance, 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holidays.

Our ideal Sales Engineer will be a fully-fledged area sales person, used to working solo and travelling to client sites. You will be a fantastic communicator who picks up on the smaller details. As Sales Engineer you will have overall responsibility and ownership of managing key accounts and developing new accounts.

  • Account management and customer consultation, engaging with clients to understand their technical needs and offering solutions
  • Building strong customer relationships to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Technical Support and providing pre-sales and post-sales support
  • Conducting technical demonstrations to your customers and providing product consultations
  • Product support to customers and distributors within your area
  • Managing the sales process from initial inquiry through to final delivery, including negotiating contracts and closing deals
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company databases

Essential skills and experience

  • Field sales experience
  • Technical aptitude (preferably Engineering/Manufacturing)
  • Own transport
  • You live within the region (Liverpool/Manchester/Leeds/Sheffield areas)
