Dementia Specialist Care and Support Worker – Leeds / Bradford – Full time - £12.30 p/h (upon completion of all training & compliance)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Dementia Specialist Care & Support Worker to support clients living with a diagnosis of Dementia in all aspects of their day-to-day living.

The role will involve primarily working independently at clients' homes delivering personalised, safe, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aspects of personal care such as showering and bathing, dressing, and grooming, dental hygiene, toileting, and continence care.  
  • Supporting your clients to eat and drink well.
  • The safe usage of personal equipment ad aids whilst respecting the dignity of the client.
  • Supporting the client with social and physical activities such as staying connected with friends/relatives, shopping and social networking.
  • Assisting with medications. 
  • Responding to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding matters, ensuring effective communication with families / carers / other professionals.
  • Keep all information about clients and their families secure and confidential Work well as part of the Care 24-7 team. 
  • Ensuring information about clients and their families is kept confidential whilst following policies, procedures, and guidance always.  
  • Attending training activities, supervisor, and appraisal meetings. 

Requirements:

  • Health and Social Care Level 2 minimum
  • Dementia awareness certification at level 2
    Right to work within the UK
  • Full UK drivers licence
  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development
  • Dedication to supporting individuals living with dementia to enhance their quality of life
  • A good standard of English both spoken and written and be able to communicate effectively
  • A warm, compassionate, and personable nature with the ability to work with patience, tact and understanding
  • Access to a smart phone with internet access
