Dementia Specialist Care and Support Worker – Leeds / Bradford – Full time - £12.30 p/h (upon completion of all training & compliance)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Dementia Specialist Care & Support Worker to support clients living with a diagnosis of Dementia in all aspects of their day-to-day living.
The role will involve primarily working independently at clients' homes delivering personalised, safe, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aspects of personal care such as showering and bathing, dressing, and grooming, dental hygiene, toileting, and continence care. Â
- Supporting your clients to eat and drink well.
- The safe usage of personal equipment ad aids whilst respecting the dignity of the client.
- Supporting the client with social and physical activities such as staying connected with friends/relatives, shopping and social networking.
- Assisting with medications.Â
- Responding to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding matters, ensuring effective communication with families / carers / other professionals.
- Keep all information about clients and their families secure and confidential Work well as part of the Care 24-7 team.Â
- Ensuring information about clients and their families is kept confidential whilst following policies, procedures, and guidance always. Â
- Attending training activities, supervisor, and appraisal meetings.Â
Requirements:
- Health and Social Care Level 2 minimum
- Dementia awareness certification at level 2
Right to work within the UK - Full UK drivers licence
- Prior experience in a similar role
- Commitment to ongoing training and development
- Dedication to supporting individuals living with dementia to enhance their quality of life
- A good standard of English both spoken and written and be able to communicate effectively
- A warm, compassionate, and personable nature with the ability to work with patience, tact and understanding
- Access to a smart phone with internet access
