Learning Support Assistant/Inclusion Support
Location: South Leeds
Position: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: 85 - 100 per day
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive team at a school in South Leeds. This role involves working with children with additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges, across the school, from EYFS to KS2. The position is ideal for an enthusiastic and flexible individual who is passionate about supporting children in both academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to children with additional needs and SEMH, both in and out of the classroom, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and feel included.
- Support pupils with core subjects (English, Maths, etc.), helping them to engage with their learning and make progress.
- Deliver 1:1 support and run intervention group work to target specific learning and development needs.
- Work across different year groups, from EYFS to KS2, adjusting your approach to meet the varying needs of children.
- Differentiate support and tasks for individual pupils to ensure they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Set and maintain clear boundaries to support positive behaviour and help children feel safe and secure in their learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement learning strategies and support plans.
- Support children's social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour and resilience.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children with additional needs and SEMH (desirable but not essential).
- Strong understanding of how to differentiate support for individual learning needs.
- Ability to set clear boundaries and maintain a calm and structured environment.
- Flexible and adaptable approach, able to work across different age groups (EYFS to KS2).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- Passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning and succeed.
- A DBS check will be required for this role.
