Our client is a social housing provider with a real focus on developing good quality affordable housing. Currently they are seeking a Housing Officer for a Temporary role

To apply candidates should have worked in a similar role within social housing and have access to their own transport. The role is a hybrid position with home working based in Leeds and Dewsbury.

Duties will include:

  • Carry out regular tenancy home visits and tenancy audits, updating records and notifying the Neighbourhood Manager of any irregularities in occupancy or condition of properties.
  • Provide advice to tenants and make recommendations to the Neighbourhood Manager on tenancy matters including assignment, succession and sub-letting.
  • Carry out investigations and produce reports on cases of suspected abandonment or sub-letting
  • Monitor and make recommendations on the successful completion, extension or termination of starter/probationary tenancies.
  • Complete risk assessments, investigations and follow up actions and directed by the Neighbourhood
  • Work collaboratively with the Police, Local Authorities, Mental Health Services and other stakeholders in the resolution of ASB
  • To ensure void targets are met (turnaround times, turnover rates, costs, and customer satisfaction) and properties are let
  • Liaison with local authorities to ensure timely and appropriate provision of nominees.
  • Visiting prospective tenants in their homes and preparing reports on their housing circumstances and eligibility for social housing.
  • Carrying out accompanied viewings of void properties, preparing new tenancy packs and carrying out the tenancy sign-up and administration processes
