We have a role available that is likely to be what you are looking for!
This is an opportunity based in the Leeds area at a school that has a great reputation and is known to foster a supportive and positive environment both for pupils and staff.
The role itself will be to support pupils based in a small provision attached to the primary school. There will be around 4-6 pupils in the provision, and you will work alongside a strong staff team to support these pupils and their needs.
The role will be perfect for someone who will be patient and empathetic yet assertive when needed in their approach to the pupils. The role will be extremely rewarding and provide strong job satisfaction.
The successful candidate will:
have some knowledge and experience on how to support pupils with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs
establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with the pupils
be able to manage challenging behaviour effectively
be resilient in their attitude and approach
liaise with other staff to ensure the pupil can access the learning and stay happy in school
be able to communicate effectively with the pupil they are providing support to
