Starting at £13.50 per hour with 25 hours per week (with the potential to increase hours/wage after probationary period)

At Geeks Room, we are looking for people who are dedicated to helping individuals (particularly those with SEND and SEMH) learn, socialise and feel included within our community.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Management team to plan, prepare and develop resources and content to reach our objectives,
- Supporting the management and development of a growing team,
- Ensuring the engagement of our students and that their needs are met,
- Monitoring student's progress and wellbeing,
- Answering and making of calls and emails, in terms of admin, student support, and other
Alongside this role, the candidate will be part of the mentoring team within Geeks Room and work with children, young people and young adults, of all abilities and capabilities. You do not need to know the skills/topics we mentor in, but be willing to learn them, adapt your own ideas and love to help children/young people grow and build their own skills.
Our mentors are often the voice of Geeks Room and are encouraged to use their experience and qualifications alongside our policies and procedures to create a stimulating environment for everyone to enjoy.

Who we are:
We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company in Leeds, working with and for individuals between the ages of 8-25 years, we cater for all abilities and capabilities.
Our main focus is on creating an inclusive environment for all, including individuals with SEND/SEMH, delivering specific programmes and activities to target people with a range of abilities. We provide regular workshops, one to one training and practical experience. We strive to inspire our students to learn through our Geeks Experience, using coding/programming, technical repairs/diagnostics and design/creativity with our 'Game Education' approach.
We also offer courses that work towards awards and accreditation for our young adults and young people who wish to push themselves further, and provide work experience opportunities to support individuals to move into employment and education.
Please note: our term-time opening hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10am-6pm and Saturdays, 9am-7pm.
