We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting students with a range of special educational needs. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Assisting students with learning tasks, providing tailored support and encouragement.
  • Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Providing emotional and social support to students who are experiencing difficulties.
  • Facilitating communication and interaction, using a variety of methods and strategies.
  • Demonstrating patience, understanding, and empathy in all interactions with students.
  • Following all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of students.
  • Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Attending team meetings to discuss individual student progress and support plans.
  • Sharing observations and insights with colleagues to inform lesson planning and interventions.
  • Communicating effectively with parents/carers to keep them informed about their child's progress and to develop strategies for home-based support.

Requirements:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Have experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally within a primary school environment.
  • Are a natural communicator and relationship builder, able to build rapport and trust with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Are patient, understanding, and possess a strong ability to adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
  • Are a team player and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Are reliable, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality care.
