Special Educational Needs Support Role

Role: Full and Part Time
Pay (Daily): £90 - £110 per day

The Role:
A special educational needs support staff member can work across a range of classes, age groups and needs, depending on the requirements of the school. Each day within special educational needs schools and settings will be different, from supporting more complex and physical needs, to more academic 1:1 learning and classroom support.
The ideal candidate is willing to get involved in all tasks and activities of the class, show pro-activity when supporting the learners and demonstrate a good understand on how best to support children and learners with varying special educational needs and behaviours.
Ideal Previous Experience:
- If you have worked in a previous SEN setting or school before, this could be from schools, care settings, support worker roles, residential homes, or secure units.
- Confident working across a variety of different age groups and needs, from 2 years old up to young adults of 19.
- Experience in supporting Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome, Mental Health needs, challenging behaviour and physical/medical requirements also.
- Candidates from psychology, family support, education, child-care, sports coaching and many more similar backgrounds have very transferable skills and experience to flourish within a special educational needs support role within a school!
Requirements:
- An up to date DBS check along with previous employer and academic references
- Willing to attend additional training sessions to progress professional development, including behaviour management, safeguarding and other essential training.
- Be reliable, committed and passionate in supporting children with varying Special Educational Needs and providing them with a creative, safe and fun education.
