Health and Social Care Lecturer

The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to enhance our academic programs. This role involves teaching across various health and social care modules and contributing significantly to curriculum development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
  • Develop, update, and enhance course materials as needed.
  • Employ a variety of learning and teaching methods, including live online learning.
  • Participate in meetings to contribute to the decision-making process and develop productive working relationships within the team.
  • Engage in staff development activities and peer observations.
  • Stay updated with student support mechanisms to ensure comprehensive guidance for students.
  • Participate in the GBS performance management programme, aiming to meet objectives related to student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support the work of GBS.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in a relevant area.
  • Teaching qualifications such as PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, or FHEA.
  • Previous lecturing experience in similar courses.
  • Experience in supervising student work and providing support and feedback.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the industry relevant to the subject area.
