Key accountabilities
We are currently recruiting for a Plater Welder for our Westok division in Leeds. The main purpose of the role is to efficiently conduct plating / Mig Welding to draughtsman drawings, maintaining a safety and quality 1st approach including fabrication of structural steel and plate work

Role overview:

  • Work Safely and provide work that meets our Quality standards (in line with ISO-9001).
  • Use of MIG welding plant to produce fillet, and butt welds.
  • Maintain condition of tools and equipment.
  • Report damage or malfunction of equipment promptly.
  • Experience in using air-arc to gouge / prepare weld areas.
  • Visually inspect work
  • Maintain a tidy workplace in line with company 5S procedures.
  • Flexible enough to work additional hours, dictated by business workload as we endeavour to meet customer demand.
  • Motivated to develop self in other critical process.
  • Read from draughtsman drawings in 1st and 3rd angle projection
  • Mark out / prepare plates and sections for manufacture
  • Measure, and cut beams to size using oxy-propane torch, to meet drawing specification
  • Construct final assembly to critical dimensions and tolerances
