Position Overview:
This role will have a strong focus on internal & external engagement and influence new business development and project delivery.In this role, you will support the wider commercial team to achieve growth targets at a product, local, regional & national level. While delivering for your own territory, you will champion engagement opportunities alongside supporting key projects from ideation, through to commercialisation and delivery. You will sit alongside the management team and drive the business growth strategy.

This is a broad, exciting and varied role and is integral to the commercial development of the company. The role will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of the growth strategy through pro-actively identifying new market opportunities, business case development and writing, and formal customer tenders, all of which align with the company strategies and goals as well as supporting the commercial team to create and deliver a targeted, scalable engagement to deliver the right message, to the right person, at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Engagement Drivers

Supporting commercial drivers to achieve their full potential and demonatrating driving consistent growth YOY

Strong experience in tender & bid writing

A strong understanding of the procurement and business development processes within the NHS or similar public sector areas

An ability to develop stakeholder relationships at a high-level, using a consultative approach to developing partnerships and providing solutions

Identifying and supporting the capturing and prioritisation of new opportunities

Collaboration on our growth strategy, commercial input on pricing and strategic projects

KOL mapping and delivering a programme of creative engagement initiative to support your territory and the wider business needs or opportunities.

Bids and Tenders

Identify, lead and co-ordinate bid submissions, ensuring control and ownership of all bidding opportunities

To be accountable for bid and proposal responses ensuring these are appropriately responded to on time

To provide The Senior Leadership team reports on opportunities, live tenders or forthcoming pipelines

To understand the relevant Procurement policies/frameworks, including the NHS Provider Selection Regime, the impact on the organisation, and to support the development of a self-assessment and output required

To complete bid narrative for SME ensuring that the bid reads as one, and meets the service specification and the vision is understood amongst the teams

Lead on Bid strategy, and ensure each bid undertakes the correct process to ensure an audit trail

Lead any internal projects for new opportunities where new process might need to be tested, ensuring both process and service design models developed meet the commissioned requirements and meet all criteria for quality and product distribution protocols and that the working commercial modelling and financial payment collection processes ensures financial viability and correct process control.

Manage the tenders, opportunities and business development options and motivate other roles as required and ensure the team is resourced appropriately to deliver against the pipeline.

To work closely with the Head of Brand and Portfolio and Head of R&D to ensure that the commercial offer meets the bid/proposal and aligns with a clear strategy, including risks and reward

Presentation of relevant bid and proposal information to senior leaders within the organisation and relevant colleagues for cohesive input

Ensure the team is fit for purpose for the forthcoming pipeline, bid libraries are up to date and the ability to flex resource as and when required

Attend bidder interviews and events if needed, presenting the service delivery models in a professional and compelling way

Support tender and business case writing to ensure operational and clinical deliverability is credible, meets the Bid requirements and is financially viable

Support the creation of commercial offers to customers, which are deliverable and scalable

For all won services, ensuring the bid promises are documented and handed over to ensure these are mobilised and delivered as planned within the bid

Working with members of the Commercial (Market Engagement and R&D), Governance and Finance Teams to have a holistic overview of all opportunities, including stakeholder management and commercial modelling

Ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines; external and internal

Ensure innovation and learning is shared across the business

Continue to keep abreast of clinical and operational developments and innovations within the NHS to ensure that these are factored into writing and modelling

Keep abreast of all local and national policy developments to communicate the relevance of the business model within the changing NHS context

Undertake specific additional projects as required

Deputise for the Head of R&D or the Head of Brand and Portfolio as required.

Any other duties as may be relevant to the role.

Skills and Experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent (inc. APMP qualification)

3 years + of successful bid development and management

NHS / Healthcare market experience (preferred but not essential)

A dynamic team player, with a track record in driving growth

You will have the ability to think big, while having good attention to detail

Commercially minded, with the ability to manage budgets and forecasts

Digital knowledge with the ability to deliver creative engagement plans

Experience of KOL mapping & engagement

Strong knowledge of CRM systems and sales pipeline development

Awareness of sales cycle & customer journeys

Excellent organisation and project management capabilities

Excellent all-round communicator with influencing skills

Adaptable and agile, able to manage multiple projects and prioritise

High level of enthusiasm and motivation, which rubs off on those around you

Competitive with a strong desire to succeed and go the extra mile

Strong Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce)

IT literate across MICROSOFT 365 platforms
