We are working with a growing business based in Leek, and they are looking for a HR Manager to join the business, supporting 2 companies in the group.

This is a hybrid role and can be flexible with home / office working.

This role is a busy position and responsible for providing HR support on a range of generalist areas to both blue and white collar workers, and they need candidates who are confident, can hit the ground running and can build relationships.

Reporting into the MD and Head of Operations, the role is working as part of a team of 3 and involves supporting a client group of c150 employees across 2 companies. The focus of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the HR function and the development and monitoring of HR processes across the whole of the employment life cycle i.e., from Employee relations, recruitment, HR advice, guidance and coaching, HR best practice, L&D, Compliance, supporting on HR projects, through to employee exit. Key duties will include;

  • Reporting into the MD and Head of Operations, leading a team of 2 people
  • Generalist HR role, supporting a client group of c150 employees across 2 companies in the group (mix of manufacturing, highly skilled / highly academic white collar, and central services)
  • Provide support with the development and delivery of HR strategy and other HR initiatives
  • Maintaining a clear understanding and providing up to date knowledge of HR best practice and advice on UK employment law. Providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on HR matters
  • Work on various HR projects including review and improve the induction and onboarding process, HR communications across the companies, and review and improvement of HR policies, processors, contracts, handbooks etc
  • Support on all areas of ER, including resolving day-to-day issues and fostering a positive working environment, dealing with complex casework, performance, attendance, and employee relations issues.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Training & Development including identify and implement training programs to enhance skills and support employee career growth.
  • Supporting the Payroll manager across all payroll processes to ensure staff are paid on time and correctly, including updating salary changes, holidays, starters / leavers etc.
  • Work on Employee Engagement initiatives, including support the strategies and initiatives to foster connection, collaboration, and engagement across all teams.
  • Performance Management, including guidance and review of performance reviews and OKR achievement.
  • Analysing and reporting HR information to support with benchmarking and the development of HR strategies and solutions.

For this role candidates will ideally be CIPD Qualified will need to have proven HR experience at this level and confident dealing with a wide range of generalist HR duties. As this role is supporting 2 companies in the group, ideally candidates will have experience supporting both blue and white collar workers.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role and the ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic and able to work on their own initiative, with a passion for making this role their own.
