Character Options Ltd is one of the UK’s leading distributors of children’s toys and games, with an extensive product range including Peppa Pig, Smooshzees, Heroes of Goo Jit Zu, Dr Who, Lanky Box, Aphmau to name but a few.

Our customers range from the major high street retailers through to the independent Toy shops.

In this role, you will assist the Design Manager in providing a design service to Character Options.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • 3 years + creative design experience - preferably with a variety of roles & responsibilities.
  • Good knowledge of Apple Mac and Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Illustrator, In-design and Photoshop
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good communication and the ability to work under tight deadlines whilst maintaining high quality standards
  • Adaptable and can work across multiple design projects whilst remaining flexible and keeping keen attention to detail
  • Capable of working on own brand and license brands and following guidelines whilst pushing the boundaries to achieve the best possible solution
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, consistently working hard and diligently
  • Adaptive to changing project requirements and open to incorporating feedback and suggestions from the brief allocated
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Positive and committed person who loves a varied working day and is involved in many different projects
  • Being a good team player and working productively alongside the design manager and our small team of designers

Desirable, but not necessary

  • Experience of working with CMS platforms
  • Experience using video editing software such as After Effects or Premiere Pro
  • UX/UI knowledge from wireframes to responsive design to prototyping
  • Knowledge of XD or Figma or Sketch
  • Knowledge of CSS and HTML and an understanding of how websites are built and work

What will your role look like?

This is a great opportunity for a creative individual to take up a graphic design role within a small design team within the UK’s largest toy manufacturer, working on some of the biggest brands in the industry.

The candidate will be creatively challenged to develop graphic design for print, web, large scale exhibition graphics, brochures, signage, marketing campaigns and POS and other marketing collateral.
