Assistant Management Accountant

About the Role

RattrayParkin is recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant on behalf of an innovative, private equity-backed business. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to support the Management Accountant in producing accurate and timely financial and management information to guide business decision-making and performance insights. You will play an integral role in the finance team, ensuring payroll is meticulously processed, reports are thorough and compliant, and all financial data meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in creating high-quality financial and management reports that support strategic decisions and provide valuable insights into business performance.
  • Payroll Processing: Prepare payroll transactions, including calculating salary variances, handling benefits and tax deductions, and managing pension contributions accurately and on time.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll and financial reporting comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Technical Support: Use your technical skills to support detailed financial analysis, assisting in identifying trends and variances.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed payroll reports to management and other key stakeholders, providing clear and actionable financial insights.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure all financial information is accurate, complete, and compliant with corporate standards and requirements.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within a professional corporate environment, with strong financial accounting and technical skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in payroll processing and financial reporting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software and excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work closely with the Management Accountant and broader finance team, while also operating independently.
