Operating within FMCG, Distinct supports the business in recruiting an interim Financial Controller. The role is initially for three months, based from their offices in Leicester offering hybrid, 2 days working from home.

This role involves overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising daily financial activities, including cash flow management, VAT, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, and prepayments
  • Enhancing and streamlining processes for recording financial transactions within core business systems
  • Producing accurate and timely financial reports, providing insights through comparisons with budgets and previous years
  • Supporting the preparation of the annual budget, cash flow forecasts, and other financial reports as needed
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the transactional finance team while maintaining strong financial controls
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders such as banks, HMRC, and auditors

Background:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Ideally, you will have previous experience in manufacturing or other fast-paced industries
  • Confidence to challenge existing processes and influence business decisions through insightful analysis
  • A naturally inquisitive and analytical approach, with a keen interest in understanding business performance.
