Financial Controller|£55,000 - £65,000 | Castle Donington | Lead the UK Finance Function

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a commercially focused leadership role where you can truly influence business performance? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing UK division of an international group, taking full ownership of the finance function while partnering closely with senior leadership.

Based at their site in Castle Donington, this hands-on role offers the perfect blend of operational finance delivery and strategic business partnering. You will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, overseeing the UK finance team, and acting as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team. As well as the commercial side of this role, you should be equally as comfortable 'rolling up your sleeves' and posting journals, preparing balance sheet recs and any other hands-on areas that need your support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of financial reporting for the UK business, producing accurate monthly accounts, board packs, and group reporting.
  • Deliver hands-on financial operations including journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Act as a commercial business partner, providing strategic insight, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Oversee the small UK HR and payroll function, including merit review processes, working closely with the group on people-related matters.
  • Serve as the local super user for the Microsoft Dynamics ERP system, driving process improvements and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Manage and develop a small finance team, building capability and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Take ownership of credit control and stock management processes, both key drivers of business performance in this environment.
  • Lead the UK audit process and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.

What we're looking for…

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA)with5+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong leadership skillswith experience managing and developing a finance team.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to challenge, influence, and advise senior stakeholders.
  • ERP system knowledge, with the ability to act as a systems lead.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to operate at both strategic and transactional levels.
  • Strong communication skills with the credibility to build relationships across the business.
