A leading and well-established organisation is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Retail Cost Accountant to join their finance team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, where you will play a key role in financial reporting, cost analysis, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) management.

Key Responsibilities:Prepare and analyse cost reports, ensuring accurate cost allocation across retail operations.Monitor and control inventory costs, providing insight into variances and profitability.Maintain and oversee fixed asset registers, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Support CAPEX reporting, tracking project spend, and ensuring alignment with budgetary controls.Work closely with operational teams to drive cost efficiencies and improve financial performance.Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.Provide financial insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.

Key Requirements:Qualified or Part-Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent experience.Experience within a retail or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, fixed assets, and CAPEX management.Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.Proficient in financial systems and Excel.Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
