Role: Year-End Technical Accountant
£500 - £600/day (inside IR35 UMB)
6-month contract | Hybrid (1-2 days in office)
Location: Flexible with occasional travel to the office (East Midlands-based)
Sellick Partnership is partnering with a local authority seeking an experienced Year-End Technical Accountant to support the finance team through a crucial period.
The Responsibilities of the Year-End Technical Accountant will be;
- Lead and support the preparation of year-end accounts
- Ensure accurate and timely production of working papers and financial statements
- Provide technical accounting advice and updates on relevant legislative changes
- Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries
- Assist in the closure of accounts and ensure full compliance with local government accounting standards
- Unpicking historic transactions in TechnologyOne
- Tackling issues around debtors and bank reconciliations
- Helping validate and cleanse financial data ahead of the new financial year.
The Ideal candidate for the Year-End Technical Accountant will have;
- Extensive year-end experience within a Local Government finance environment
- Fully Qualified Accountant
- Prior experience using TechnologyOne ERP system
- Strong understanding of local authority accounting requirements and regulations
- Confident in managing complex technical accounting queries.
