THE ROLEThe Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for ensuring that Accounts Payable routines are carried out in an accurate and timely manner. This is an important role to support the company's growth plan. It is therefore critical that you have the flexibility to carry out hands-on duties. You must be a good communicator, hardworking and energetic to implement changes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Setting up and validating suppliers on systems- Processing of payable transactions - invoices and credit notes.- Dealing with supplier invoice queries and reconciling Supplier Statements.- Maintaining generic Accounts Payable mailbox.- Ensuring invoices are approved by budget holders prior to processing.- Liaising with key suppliers and landlords to ensure payment terms are met.- Raising the proposed payment runs for approval.- Strictly following the payment approval process.- Assist with processing of stock related invoices and associated freight charges.- Contact suppliers to request missing invoices relating to direct debit payments.- Support with the processing of personal expense claims and credit cards.- Assisting with year-end audit as required- Assisting with other accounts administration tasks as and when required.- Compliance with company policies and group management systemsSKILLS- Competent in using IT software and MS Office, especially excel.- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.- Proven ability to calculate and manage accounting figures and financial records- Proven understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles- Able to work on own initiative and make intelligent, reasoned decisions under pressure- A self-starter, able to prioritise with a flexible approach, to support the business at busy times and ensure all critical dates are met- Friendly and enthusiastic personalityExperience- AAT qualified or over 3 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent qualifications- Strong Accounts Payable Experience- Comfortable working to tight month ends close deadlines If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
