About the Role

RattrayParkin is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant on behalf of a thriving, private equity-backed business. This is a fantastic opportunity to support an established finance team in a hands-on, multifaceted role that will contribute to the company’s operational and financial objectives. Working closely with the Accountant, you will provide critical support for EFSA, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, tax compliance, and day-to-day financial administration. This role is designed to help ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping, essential to the smooth operation of the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Administration: Assist with daily processing and bookkeeping, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support processing, tracking, and reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and smooth cash flow.
  • EFSA Compliance: Support the Accountant in EFSA-related reporting and compliance.
  • VAT and Tax: Assist with VAT returns and tax reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Month-End Reporting: Contribute to the month-end close process, preparing necessary documentation and assisting with reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the Accountant with reporting requirements and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with specific expertise in VAT and month-end reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an organized, methodical approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
