Location: Leicester
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000
Jellyfish Recruitment are working exclusively with an established food manufacturer who are now looking to appoint a Specification Technologist to support their technical operations.
This permanent, full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, detail-driven environment & has a keen interest in food safety, product compliance & specification accuracy.
About the Role:
- Write, update & maintain technical specifications for raw materials & finished products
- Oversee artwork approvals/management & packaging development
- Liaise with suppliers to verify materials, certifications & technical data
- Ensure compliance with legal, customer & food safety standards
- Support NPD teams with documentation, technical input & packaging checks
- Oversee third-party certification schemes
- Contribute to HACCP/VACCP risk assessments & food fraud systems
- Participate in internal audits & maintain accreditation records
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in food specification management & systems.
- Understanding of UK/EU food legislation & compliance standards
- Strong attention to detail & time management skills
- Confident communicator with suppliers & internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with specification databases or systems
