Specification Technologist 

Location: Leicester 

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

Jellyfish Recruitment are working exclusively with an established food manufacturer who are now looking to appoint a Specification Technologist to support their technical operations.

This permanent, full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, detail-driven environment & has a keen interest in food safety, product compliance & specification accuracy.

About the Role:

  • Write, update & maintain technical specifications for raw materials & finished products
  • Oversee artwork approvals/management & packaging development
  • Liaise with suppliers to verify materials, certifications & technical data
  • Ensure compliance with legal, customer & food safety standards
  • Support NPD teams with documentation, technical input & packaging checks
  • Oversee third-party certification schemes
  • Contribute to HACCP/VACCP risk assessments & food fraud systems
  • Participate in internal audits & maintain accreditation records

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in food specification management & systems.
  • Understanding of UK/EU food legislation & compliance standards
  • Strong attention to detail & time management skills
  • Confident communicator with suppliers & internal stakeholders
  • Familiarity with specification databases or systems
