About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to join our Screening Team in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of social workers and deputy team managers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children and families in need.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of social workers and deputy team managers
  • Allocate cases and assess caseloads
  • Provide consultation on complex cases
  • Manage budgets
  • Investigate complaints and disciplinary matters
  • Chair meetings
  • Accompany social workers on home visits
  • Attend court and give evidence
  • Audit files
  • Implement policies and procedures
  • Identify and implement staff training and development
  • Ensure that activities within the Council's safeguarding services are carried out to agreed service standards within available budgets, and in line with legislative, regulatory and national minimum standard requirements
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for all members of staff

Essential requirements:

  • Recognised social work qualification
  • SWE registration
  • Current or recent experience as a manager within a screening or MASH team

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience of working in a local authority children's services department
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
