We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our client's dynamic kitchen team at a prestigious venue based in rural Leicestershire. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of food production, especially in the absence of the Head Chef. The ideal candidate will be involved in menu design, staff management, and ensuring excellent service levels.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deputise for the Head Chef, maintaining high standards of food production.
- Collaborate in writing and costing menus for all food outlets, conducting regular reviews to ensure profitability.
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of all kitchen staff.
- Ensure all commodities are received from reputable and traceable sources.
- Maintain a high level of customer care and ensure all equipment is kept in clean, working condition.
- Manage food stocks, control budgets, and prepare departmental rotas in line with business levels in the absence of the Executive Head Chef.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and train staff.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
