7:30am to 4:15pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 12pm Friday

A well-established component manufacturer is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its team in Leicester. This role involves conducting materials testing, supporting quality control, and assisting in research and development.
Key Responsibilities for Laboratory Technician
- Performing routine and advanced materials testing, including hardness, tensile, and microstructural analysis
- Preparing and analysing metal samples using microscopy and chemical testing methods
- Supporting quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting in research and development of new alloy compositions and processing techniques
- Documenting test results and reporting findings to engineers and production teams
Candidate Requirements for Laboratory Technician role:
- Experience working in a metallurgical or materials testing lab (manufacturing, foundry, automotive, aerospace experience is advantageous)
- Knowledge of superalloys, high-performance metals is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as spectrometers, hardness testers, and microscopes
- Foundation level qualification in engineering/ laboratory skills would be beneficial.
