An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate/Associate Designate Civil Engineer to join an established and highly reputable civil engineering consultancy in Leicester.

With a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects, our client is looking for a talented individual to lead their growing team and take ownership of a diverse range of civil engineering jects. This role offers great potential for career progression and the opportunity to work with high-profile clients across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, leading project meetings, and developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial control and profitability, and providing regular updates on project status to senior management.
  • Manage the growth of the civil engineering team, including recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of staff.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities for new projects and building a pipeline of work.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions, utilising your expertise across a wide range of sectors.
  • Lead by example in client-facing situations, with the ability to effectively manage expectations and deliver successful outcomes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE) with at least 15 years of experience in civil engineering development.
  • Proven experience in managing a team of engineers, with a strong background in leadership, staff development, and performance management.
  • Significant client-facing experience with a focus on client management, developing long-term relationships, and business growth.
  • Strong technical expertise in civil engineering design and project delivery, with experience across multiple sectors (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with clients, team members, and senior management at all levels.
  • A proactive approach to business development and the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
