Entry Level - Rail EngineerThe Resolute Group is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for qualified Engineers interested in working in the Rail sector.Location: Leicester - LeicestershireSalary: £40,000 basic + Overtime + PackageShift Pattern: Rotating Days, Nights and Weekends (35hour week)The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a Key client in the Rail sector who has recently been awarded a long-term framework to manage the assets in the Leicestershire region. Due to the training package you don't need any railway experience just an Engineering qualification be it City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in:

  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Avionic
You will leverage your existing engineering experience while receiving specialised training and support to advance your career within the rail sector. Successful candidates will contribute to the maintenance and reliability of critical rail infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Rail systems such as UPS, Signalling, Lighting and Trackside infrastructure.This would be an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer looking to transition into a new career, from armed forces or maintenance engineers.Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on trackside systems such as Signalling, Telecoms, Switches and crossings.
  • Inspections: Perform regular inspections of critical installations to identify faults, wear, and potential safety hazards.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operation of railway services.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with legislative standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other railway infrastructure.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualification: Engineering bias apprenticeship - NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Full Licence: Car or Motorbike due to the future on-call nature of the position.
  • Drug & Alcohol screening: Must be able to pass a drug & alcohol screening
Work Environment:
  • Locations: Leicestershire
  • Hours: Working on a rotating roster of days, nights and weekends working a 35hr week
  • Safety: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to strict safety protocols at all times.
