A highly regarded independent Commercial Broker have a requirement for a Finance Assistant to join their established Finance and Accounts team.

They seek a motivated and organised individual with excellent communication skills.

The Finance Assistant will assist in the collection of client funds, processing of payments to insurers and supporting the smooth running of the finance department.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Respond positively to all enquiries received from clients and insurers in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Develop effective working relationships with insurers
  • Ensure that Acturis records are maintained for all clients.
  • Reduce the balance of outstanding premiums in accordance with aged debt process.
  • Monitor progress of aged debt and take action as appropriate
  • Allocate client receipts and resolve any queries arising.
  • Ensure all outstanding actions are recorded appropriately within the system diary and followed up accordingly.
  • Process Premium Credit finance agreements and deal with any queries that arise.
  • Reconcile insurer payments
  • Assist with debt collection processes.
  • Bank reconciliation

Key skills/experience required:

  • Previous experience in a Finance or Accounts role.
  • Good written and verbal communication, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills are essential, while knowledge of Acturis would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working in the insurance industry would be beneficial.
  • The ability to work under pressure and assimilate large quantities of information quickly.
