Join our dedicated team in Leicestershire, where you will play a crucial role in delivering a customer-focused service by providing excellent delivery and collection of temporary traffic management signage. This role supports a wide range of highway maintenance activities and requires a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Erect and remove traffic management signs as required.
  • Assist with the scheduling of resources for the distribution and collection of signage.
  • Read plans and drawings related to traffic management.
  • Conduct daily routine checks and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sign Shop and Traffic Management Technicians, providing support in the workshop and covering during peak or emergency times.
  • Participate in a standby rota for emergency situations to provide out-of-hours cover.
  • Lead and support other operatives, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety directives and effective team integration.
  • Coordinate the delivery, collection, and storage of temporary signs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Implement temporary traffic management systems in compliance with Chapter 8 and the Code of Practice for Safety at Streetworks.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with various legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in traffic management or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety, COSHH Regulations, and Driver’s Hours Regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage less experienced operatives.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to promoting equality and eliminating discrimination.
  • 12A, 12B, or 12C Traffic Management qualifications are essential.
