A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager, to join a very well established, family run logistics and distribution business in the North Leicestershire area. With numerous industry accreditations under their belt and a dynamic and growing client base, this immediate appointment is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Mon to Fri. It would suit an experienced senior warehousing management professional who enjoys leading and developing their team and who has a track record in and committed to identifying areas of continuous improvement.
Reporting directly into the Head of Warehousing, you will be responsible for all warehousing functions including inbound product, storage, cost control, OTIF, KPI and supplier management. Your man-management capabilities cannot be underestimated. You will have an inclusive, engaging approach, provide direction and support, and certainly have the ability to empower your team. Training and development, when required, will be part of your remit, as will setting the bar with regards to quality and what "excellent" should look like.
The role would suit an individual who values teamwork and fosters a culture of collaboration. It is a highly hands-on environment and would suit a warehouse management professional who can balance the need of getting get stuck in and lead by example, but also capable of taking a step back to look at the operation critically to offer strategic support and areas for continuous improvement. As the business manages multiple clients each with their own SLA's and unique requirements, it is essential that you have exceptional customer service experience and approach challenges with urgency and a can-do attitude.
To succeed, you will need to be an experienced warehouse and operations professional who possess strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure an efficient and high-quality service is continually and consistently provided to your customers. It is a fast-paced logistics and distribution environment where the ability to prioritise, delegate and lead will be essential. There will be daily liaison across multiple departments (commercial, financial, warehousing, transport, IT, H&S, facilities, HR) so an ability to communicate effectively, build rapport and influence will be expected. Experience of BRCGS in the handling and transport of food products in the warehouse would be an advantage, but not essential.
