We are seeking a Procurement Manager to support the delivery of an established Education Trust's procurement strategy. This role is crucial for ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Trust’s objectives by ensuring value for money, effective supplier management, and strategic sourcing.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage several procurement categories, undertaking category analysis and developing and implementing category strategies and plans, underpinned by market research.
  • Handle end-to-end procurement processes, from needs assessment to supplier selection and contract negotiation, including drafting of tender documentation, tender evaluation, and management of clarifications.
  • Lead personally on high-value and/or complex procurements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies, including UK public procurement regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate records to evidence procurement processes and support strong supplier and contract management.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and support management of supplier relationships as required.
  • Keep the Contracts Register up to date for respective categories.
  • Monitor the Trust’s procurement pipeline and plan procurement support resources appropriately to ensure procurement timeframes are achieved.
  • Support the delivery of an upgrade to the Trust’s use of software for procurement processes.
  • Advise and support on procurement-related policies and matters such as the Trust’s Conflicts of Interests policy, Modern Slavery considerations, sustainability agenda, etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management within a similar role.
  • CIPS Qualified is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of UK public procurement regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple categories and handle complex procurements.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct detailed category analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in using procurement software and systems.
