F&R are looking for a Site Manager for a new solar farm project in Leicester, designed to significantly contribute to the region's renewable energy supply. As part of this ambitious initiative, we're looking for an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations on-site and be a key player in the development of a major green energy project.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced site manager with a strong background in construction and renewable energy projects, ready to take on a leadership role and ensure that this high-profile solar farm is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Manage all site activities, ensuring that the construction and installation of the solar farm are executed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of contractors, subcontractors, and site workers, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials, ensuring that the installation and construction meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Health & Safety: Oversee site health and safety management, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
  • Logistics Management: Coordinate the delivery of materials, equipment, and resources to site, ensuring projects run smoothly without delays.
  • Budget and Scheduling: Manage and track project timelines and budgets, identifying and addressing potential delays or cost overruns.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates on site progress to senior management, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, local laws, and industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with other teams, including project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders, to ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned and on track.


What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in site management, preferably in construction, civil engineering, or renewable energy projects. Experience with solar farm projects is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage large teams, driving high standards and motivating staff to meet project goals.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge: Strong knowledge of H&S regulations and a track record of implementing robust safety protocols on-site.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve challenges that may arise during the construction or installation phases.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Qualifications: A degree or HNC in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent certification is essential.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with project management software and tools to track progress and manage site activities.
