Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Our client is a systems integrator specializing in control systems for heavy equipment. They design bespoke solutions that integrate electrical panels, hardware PLCs, and mechanical components, providing innovative systems to industries like power generation, oil and gas, and waste incineration.
With a team of around 30 and an annual turnover of £6 million, this growing company combines a strong reputation with a collaborative and supportive environment, offering exciting opportunities for talented engineers.
The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of the mechanical design elements of bespoke systems, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and integration with other components.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Producing 3D models and detailed drawings for fabricated and machined components, including flanges, brackets, valves, and pipe supports.
- Creating the overall 3D system model, integrating purchased parts like pumps, motors, and pipework.
- Conducting pressure calculations for pipework to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborating with suppliers to verify equipment specifications meet project requirements.
- Working closely with the electrical engineering team to produce fully integrated system designs.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll need:
- Proficiency in 3D Modelling, ideally with SolidWorks (AutoCAD or similar also considered).
- Experience designing fabricated or machined components.
- A formal qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- A personable and proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and collaborate within a close-knit team.
